Esti Software Ltd ("We") are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with our Licence Agreement of www.estipc.com/start/terms.php and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By visiting www.estimac.com or www.estipc.com and downloading the software or entering into the Licence Agreement you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

For the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Controller is Esti Software Ltd of Gloucestershire, UK.

Information We Collect From You

We will collect and process data about you by means of the following methods :

Information you give us via our web sites or email.
This is information about you that you give us by filling in forms on our sites, estimac.com, estipc.com and estisoft.com or by corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise. It includes information you provide when you enquire about our software, request a quotation, request information about training seminars, request support for using the software or report a problem. The information you give us may include your name, company, address, email address and phone number.

Information you give us via the Internet when first using the software.
This is information about you that you give us by filling in a registration form within our software after downloading and installing it on your computer. It some case you may alternatively be asked to provide this information via email. The information you give us includes your name, company and email address together with your status (new user evaluating the software, existing user transferring a licence, existing user adding an extra licence, student, etc). When you complete the registration form this information is sent to our data server via an unsecured Internet connection where it is kept for licensing purposes.

Information we collect about you during regular use of the software.
At least once during every day on which you use the software, information is sent by the software to our data server via an unsecured Internet connection. This information includes a computer identifier and licence access code which we use to check the validity of your licence, your computer’s network hardware (MAC) addresses and several folder paths which we use to check how the software is configured on your computer. This information is retained to help us assist you in identifying configuration problems and manage your licence validity and renewals.

Information we collect about you via diagnostics reports.
Our software includes a feature that lets you send detailed diagnostics information to us via unsecured email. This feature is typically used when you experience a problem or have a specific enquiry about a feature of the software. An email is generated on your computer which includes details of your computer (operating system name and version, network hardware addresses, etc), our software (version number, etc), folder paths used by our software, crash report logs, etc. Various files are attached to this email including data shared between projects and settings or configuration files. If you have a project open at the time you create a diagnostics report then the project file will be attached too, as it may be helpful in diagnosing problems. This project file is likely to contain information that is confidential to you and / or your clients. We use this information only to assist you and never pass it on to other parties.

Receiving your projects and data files as attachments to diagnostics report emails, sent by you to us, is the only way we can view your work and access information that may be confidential to you and / or your clients. EstiMac and EstiPC are applications that run on your computer. They are not online services.

Lawful Basis For Processing The Information

The lawful basis for processing this data is :

  • To allow us to fulfil our existing contractural obligations to you to support the software.
    This includes responding to technical enquiries, diagnosing problems, organising training and processing software licence transfers and renewals.
  • To allow us to perform preliminary actions at your request which may result in a contractural arrangement.
    This includes providing information about the software, processing free trial and student licences and providing quotations and payment facilities.

Uses Made Of The Information

We use information held about you in the following ways :

  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information, products and services that you request from us.
  • To provide you with information about other goods and services we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about.

Where We Store Your Personal Data

Our website and database is hosted by a third party service provider.

All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Our service provider uses strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

All credit card and debit card payments are securely handled by a third party service provider. We receive notifications of successful and declined payments but we are never given access to your full credit card or debit card numbers or CVV codes.

All direct bank transfer payments are shown on our bank’s secure online banking web pages. We are not shown your full sort code and account numbers.
